PART 1 - The Weight of a Mass
How important is ONE Mass?

ACTIVITY:  Together watch the animation video or read the book:
The Weight of a Mass: A Tale of Faith
by Josephine Nobisso.

Here is a classic book wonderful for those preparing for First Communion. If you are not familiar with this book, it beautifully depicts the significance of the celebration of the Mass and promotes the love of the Eucharist.  Watch as the inspiring miraculous event unfolds as the poor widow begs the faithless baker for only a crust of bread in return for offering the evening's Mass. The baker, his son, and the town turn their hearts and find their faith in the true weight of the Mass.

Click here to view the The Weight of a Mass: A Tale of Faith video (10:41)

Take time and discuss the following questions:  Who was your favorite character? Why?
How important is the Mass to me?  What makes the Mass important?
What can we do to help the poor?

After watching the video or reading the book and having a discussion, answer the following questions and submit the responses.  Once complete, continue to Part 2.
