Why have church choirs?
- Music enhances all worship services and significant celebrations with music beauty.
- They become an extension of almost every facet of the church, a catalyst for excitement and promotion
- Church choirs are a significant source of public relations for the church, spreading good will and creating a positive image tot he community.
- They draw in relatives and friends into the walls of the church, where support and relationships with the church might be nurtured.
Musical opportunities at St. Bronislava
Cantors The 4:00 pm and 10:30 am Masses are cantor led. You must comfortable singing in front of the congregation either by yourself or with a small group. Choir Singing in 4-part harmony, the choir leads the congregation in song at the 8:00 am Sunday Mass. They also sing at the later Mass on Holy Days of Obligation as well as Confirmation, Christmas and Holy Week. Rehearsals are held on Tuesday at 6:30 pm September - Easter with a break after Christmas. Anyone who wishes to sing for Christmas and Easter, but not every Sunday is welcome. Funerals Funerals are cantor led and usually held on weekdays at 10:30 or 11:00 am. There usually isn't more than a couple days notice before a funeral. This is a good opportunity for those who don't work during the day. Spanish Mass Spanish Masses are held once or twice a month on Sundays at 1:00 pm. While you don't need to speak Spanish fluently, you must be comfortable singing in the language. Instrumentalists All instrumentalists are welcome! |
